About us
We are both graduates of the Textile Conservation Centre/Courtauld Institute of Art's three-year postgraduate diploma course in Textile Conservation.
Poppy Singer
After training Poppy took up the post of Textile Conservation Officer at The Museum of London. Subsequently she returned to The Textile Conservation Centre as Conservator/Tutor. Since 1988 she has been working in private practice, both independently and in association with Annabel. Poppy recently spent time at the Heritage Conservation Centre, Singapore on a 6-week Fellowship.
Annabel Wylie
Annabel ran the National Trust conservation workroom at Knole, Sevenoaks, for 6 years before setting up in private practice in Essex in 1988.
We joined forces in 1989 and in 1996 moved to the current workroom which is a large, open-plan flexible space, well-equipped to undertake a full range of treatments. Security standards at the workroom have been approved by both the Museums and Galleries Commission and The National Trust and we have full insurance cover.
We recently hosted a 1-year, HLF funded ICON internship offering hands-on experience to a newly qualified textile conservator.
We are happy to undertake work, on-site and abroad, as well as in the workroom.
